Search CURA Publications Catalog

The CURA publications library is currently being digitized by the University of Minnesota Digital Conservancy. When the project is complete, the entire CURA publications library will be online and fully searchable. Unfortunately, during this process we are not able to honor individual requests for publications . Additionally, we no longer have physical copies of publications to send out.

New publications are digitized daily and the publications catalog on the CURA website is not automatically updated with links to scanned copies, so please search the CURA collection at the Digital Conservancy for the publications you are looking for:

Search for reports, monographs, CURA Reporter articles, and other publications stemming from CURA-supported projects.

  • For search terms entered in the Search full text box, only publications matching all terms will be found. Use fewer terms to broaden your search, or more terms to narrow it.
  • The optional Program and Keywords fields can help further refine your search.
  • Search results will be displayed below the search form.

City of Lakes Community Land Trust 2012 Homeowner Survey. 2012 Keniski, Aaron.

Earlier this spring, the City of Lakes Community Land Trust underwent the task of designing and implementing their second bi-annual homeowner survey. The first survey, which was completed during the spring of 2010, offered insights from CLCLT homeowners regarding how the organization could improve its services to better meet homeowner needs. In comparison to the first homeowner survey, the 2012 survey was much more detailed and quantitative in its approach, but still maintained a qualitative aspect.

CLCLT [City of Lakes Community Land Trust] Homebuyer Initiated Program Concept Development 2005 Nyquist, Daren.

Home sales prices in Minneapolis have posted record increases over the last four years. Aided by a combination of low mortgage interest rates and a rising demand for homeownership within the city limits, the Minneapolis housing market has produced impressive increases in sales prices. The purpose of this research is to analyze the Minneapolis housing market on a neighborhood-by-neighborhood basis in order to gather a more substantive view of housing affordability.

Background

In late 2012, the Hennepin County Teen Parent Connection received a grant from the University of Minnesota’s Center for Urban and Regional Affairs. The Hennepin County Teen Parent Connection sought to understand the gaps and overlaps in the services available to teen mothers, fathers and their children within Hennepin County.

 Project Goals

There were two primary goals for the Community Asset Mapping Project:

Kris Nelson Community-Based Research Program
Community Benefits Agreements in Minneapolis Neighborhood Planning: The Harrison Neighborhood and Redevelopment of the Bassett Creek Valley. 2006 Khoury, Aron.

The meaningful involvement of residents in the planning and implementation of redevelopment plans that impact their community is essential to any successful community development project. Too often, however, the mechanisms that govern urban development do not allow for the type of resident involvement that realizes the greatest possible community benefit.

Community-Owned Affordable Housing - Is it Practical? 2007 Wells, Julia.

This study reviews and evaluates the Lexington-Hamline Community Council's affordable housing program. Throughout the past twenty years in which Lex-Ham has owned the seven houses, many challenges have arisen, and the council has had to reconsider the ultimate goals of the council itself, as well as the goals of the housing program specifically. Operating a community-owned housing program takes a considerable amount of time, money, and other limited resources.

Connecting the Community Report Edwards, Brittany

This summer, we were able to gather community input and ideas on increasing bike and walkability on North-South routes along the Lake Street corridor, where future transit stations are most likely to be placed. This memo will focus on the engagement methods chosen and the most relevant feedback from each, along with some new ideas to improve these connections. Through an online survey and a series of focus groups, we were able to obtain a set of macro and micro data of community identified issues and potential solutions.
