Community Visualization

Data, policies and other processes are often described in mainstream sources in complex language that is not accessible to community members. When residents don’t have equal access to information about issues affecting their communities, civic engagement is limited and our collective decision-making suffers.

CURA’s Community Visualization bridges this gap by offering design and visualization assistance that explains complex ideas in simple, visual ways.

We partner with community-based organizations, community organizers, and other leaders who are working with people on the margins of policy development, including communities of color and low-wealth communities.

Community Visualization tools are created by University of Minnesota students, as well as freelance artists and designers, working in collaboration with CURA.
