Parks and Power is working to change the way the Minneapolis parks budgeting process is rolled out, and to make the parks more accessible, joyful and engaging spaces for all people to participate in.

This spring, Parks and Power, artist Cori Lin (www.corilin.co and @cori.lin.art), and CURA's Community Viz program worked together to create the Minneapolis Park Board Budget and Funding Explainer: a graphic guide to the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board's budget and budgeting process, including the timeline, budgeted revenue and expenditures, who influences the process, and key vocabulary.

This is the first in a set of tools that Parks and Power is using to engage community members in the MPRB 2020 budgeting process and organize for a participatory budgeting component to MPRB's budget process.
