Government and Public Policy

Most CURA projects are indirectly related to government and public policy issues, and many CURA projects include
recommendations for policy action. Recent CURA projects directly related to government and public policy include policies regarding the use of tax increment financing (TIF), the effect of intermediary social service organizations on the delivery of human services, the impact of computer networks on civic participation in rural communities, the effectiveness of alternative urban areawide review (AUAR) and planned unit development (PUD) approaches in land use planning, and the representation of women in the Minnesota state legislature.
