Transportation on Remote Indian Reservations.
Lack of reliable transportation on rural, remote Indian reservations limits employment opportunities and endangers life and property. In the early 1990s CURA worked with Minnesota tribes on defining the needs of reservation Indians and looking at possible solutions. The work was extended through the federally-funded Mountain-Plains Consortium into North Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado. CURA worked with seven reservations helping to conduct community surveys and facilitate discussions with state transportation departments.
