The CURA publications library is currently being digitized by the University of Minnesota Digital Conservancy. When the project is complete, the entire CURA publications library will be online and fully searchable. Unfortunately, during this process we are not able to honor individual requests for publications . Additionally, we no longer have physical copies of publications to send out.

New publications are digitized daily and the publications catalog on the CURA website is not automatically updated with links to scanned copies, so please search the CURA collection at the Digital Conservancy for the publications you are looking for:

Connecting Twin Cities Job Center Locations and Minnesota 3-D Commuteshed Data.

Author:
Minnesota 3-D.

This project aimed to connect M3D community partners and their commuteshed data (where persons of a given area travel to work) to designated Twin Cities' job centers and employment opportunities. Twin Cities' job centers were mapped and overlayed by a selection of M3D partners' commuteshed patterns to give meaning to the M3D partner commuteshed points on the maps. Buffers of 1, 5, 10 and 20 miles were produced for each community to determine employment opportunities for community residents within given distances. M3D Workplace Area Characteristic reports were produced to identify employment opportunities surrounding the chosen community. The M3D Workplace & Resident Area Characteristic Reports also provide additional information such as average annual earnings, age of job holders and highest employing industries in the job centers closest to the community. When comparing these two reports, spatial mismatches between resident's employable skill sets and area job opportunities can be identified.
