Motivations and Needs of HIRED’s Ramsey County Welfare-to-Work Participants and Local Employers

HIRED provides personalized and innovative work solutions for disadvantaged job seekers in the Twin Cities. Through nationally recognized job training and work readiness models, they empower people of all ages and backgrounds to achieve economic self-sufficiency. Due to the time-limited nature of benefits, it is imperative that HIRED’s employment services effectively and quickly assist participants in securing family-sustaining employment. Rose Teng, a Public Policy graduate student in the Humphrey School, refined and made recommendations to improve HIRED’s employment services program for Ramsey County Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP) participants. The results are being used for program improvement and to improve outcomes for job seekers.
