Evaluating the Potential of the Buy Fresh Buy Local Strategy for Northwest Minnesota

Pembina Trail Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Association is a public nonprofit organization that provides leadership and assistance in coordinating the development of human and natural resources. Buy Fresh Buy Local Red River Valley chapter promotes local markets for local growers, helps consumers source local products and educates the community about the economic and environmental benefits of readily accessible local foods. Chansouda Rattanavong, a Business undergraduate student on the Crookston campus, evaluated how the Buy Fresh Buy Local marketing campaign is working in the Red River Valley and how members can increase the potential of the Buy Fresh Buy Local strategy. The results are being used to organize the members of the Buy Fresh Buy Local Red River Valley chapter to cooperatively develop a strategic action plan for the region.
