The Center for Urban and Regional Affairs is an outreach arm of the University of Minnesota with a long history of engagement with diverse communities in this metropolitan area and throughout the state. We are especially proud of the work we have done in partnership with immigrant and refugee groups across the region. In light of the recent presidential order barring refugees from any country and all travelers from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen, CURA reaffirms its support for these communities.  The values for which CURA stands, the principles we follow in the work we do, and the imperatives of human and civil rights are incompatible with the exclusion of people based solely on country of origin. We recognize the contributions that refugees and immigrants have made to this region. We celebrate the many students and faculty members with whom we have worked who have entered the U.S. from places all across the globe. We renew our commitment to welcome and work with people from all parts of the world, of all faith communities.
