Description: Founded in 1989, Urban Habitat is focused on building power in low-income communities and communities of color by combining education, advocacy, research and coalition building to advance environmental, economic and social justice in the Bay Area. Join us for our next convening to learn more about Urban Habitat’s regional equity initiatives, and join in a conversation that will inspire new ideas for our shared equity work in the Twin Cities region.

This will also be a great opportunity to connect with other equity leaders from across the region. We invite you to stay for the reception following the program and continue your conversations informally!

This is a free event, but registration is required. Light refreshments will be provided.

Background on Urban Habitat initiatives:

The Bay Area Social Equity Caucus which holds decision-makers accountable to the San Francisco Bay Area’s low-income communities and communities of color by uniting organizations across the nonprofit, public, and private sectors and building power around a shared regional agenda for environmental, economic and social justice.

The Boards and Commissions Leadership Institute was launched in 2009 to identify, train, place and support low-income people and people of color for priority boards and commissions in the Bay Area region.
