CURA Housing Forum/Sabo Symposium: Neighborhood Social Mix: What Do We Know and What Should We Do?

September 26, 2012 - 4:00pm - 5:30pm George Galster, Clarence Hilberry Distinguished Professor of Urban Affairs at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, will talk about his most recent publication, "Neighborhood Social Mix: Theory, Evidence, and Implications for Policy and Planning" (in Naomi Carmon and Susan Fainstein, eds. Planning for/with People, forthcoming). Galster will devote the first half of the talk to what we know empirically about neighborhood mix," including salient research, with the last half of the talk focused on policy and planning, spelling out what he would do/propose were he named the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) by the next president. The presentation will be followed by a panel response and audience Q&A.
