Jay will present on his work of engaging the Hmong community around issues of interest to them, particularly organizing Hmong youth who expressed a strong desire to attend a new school that they perceive could provide them with greater educational opportunities. Heidi will present research that she conducted on measuring access and equity for Hmong students in the education system. The Hennepin County sponsor for this event is Kimberly Spates, A-GRAD Coordinator. Kimberly will share her perspectives on Hennepin County’s interest in promoting high school graduation and will introduce the University speakers.
