This forum highlight the results of a CURA-funded study of planned unit development (PUD) policies and implementation in the Twin Cities region. The study revealed that the practice of planned unit development is widely varied, with communities pursuing a range of goals, including improving design, protecting natural resources, and facilitating redevelopment. The findings offer useful insights related to PUD ordinances, projects, and the negotiation efforts that are central to using this flexible zoning tool. Panelists shared their diverse experiences with PUDs.
