UMore Park FIRP Forum

Date and time:
January 26, 2012 - 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Location:

McNamara Alumni Center, Gateway Room (first floor)

This informational forum and networking opportunity is intended for faculty who are interested in learning more about eligible
research opportunities with UMore Park in conjunction with this year's CURA's Faculty Interactive Research Program (FIRP) competition.

CURA's annual FIRP competition encourages regular University of Minnesota faculty members to carry out research projects that involve a significant urban-related public policy issue for the state or its communities, and that include active engagement with groups, agencies, or organizations in Minnesota involved with the issue. Each award provides support for one month of the faculty member’s time in the summer, and a half-time graduate research assistant for the academic year.

This year, supplemental funding for an additional half-time summer graduate research assistant is available to successful proposals that contribute to the planning and development of the University’s vision to create a new, sustainable community on the 5,000-acre UMore Park property in Dakota County. This forum will provide an opportunity to learn about potential research opportunities associated with UMore Park that would be eligible for the FIRP competition. To RSVP, contact Brianna Chatters at chatt003@umn.edu.

For additional FIRP eligibility requirements, terms of the award, and application procedures, visit www.cura.umn.edu/FIRP/announcement.
