Kris S. Nelson
Director, Neighborhood Programs

Kris directs the Neighborhood Partnerships for Community Research (NPCR) program, and is responsible for assisting neighborhood organizations in Minneapolis, St. Paul, and Twin Cities metro area suburbs to develop applied research projects that can be carried out by university students and faculty from one of nine NPCR member-schools.

Kris is involved in the University of Minnesota Northside Partnership and administers the Northside Seed Grant program. He is also an active member of the University District Partnership Alliance Working Group. Kris works to promote and develop new initiatives to increase the capacity of community-based, resident-driven organizations. Kris has an M.A. in public affairs from Indiana University, and more than 30 years of community planning and development experience.
