Mike coordinates the Community Growth Options (U-CGO) program, which provides applied research assistance to help developing communities on the edge of the Twin Cities metropolitan area manage growth in ways that make development more sustainable. He also edits the CURA Reporter, CURA’s quarterly report of research and program activity.

Mike has an M.A. in communication studies from the University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill, and he is currently enrolled part-time in the Master of Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) program at the Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs.
