MNIS ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY
- MNIS data will be used only for officially approved uses directly related to the organization’s non-profit mission and purpose.
- MNIS data will be used only in a manner consistent with the organization’s status as a contractor with the city of Minneapolis.
- MNIS data will not be used for private purposes or private financial gain.
- Direct access to MNIS via the City’s intranet or other means will be limited to designated staff and leaders of the organization.
- Access to MNIS data will be password protected.
- Computers containing MNIS data will be available to neighborhood staff only and not the general public.
- All leaders and staff designated to have direct access to MNIS data will have received training in the appropriate use of the data.
- Each neighborhood organization participating in the MNIS data network will have a clear and defined set of intervention strategies in place that specify how MNIS data are used.
- Each neighborhood organization participating in the MNIS data network will have data privacy guidelines specific to the organization’s programs and applications using MNIS as well as other data.
- Nothing in these guidelines will be interpreted as limiting individual neighborhood organizations to further define and restrict access to and use of MNIS data or documents developed from MNIS data.
The MNIS Steering Committee will review these guidelines annually.
