We are changing the process for reviewing the long distance phone bills. Effective with the May 2002 bill, the front desk will attach a label to your phone bill and give it to you for your signature. The label reads “I have reviewed the attached phone bill and certify that all long distance calls made were for University business.” If the long distance call list is correct, please sign and date the statement and then return it to the front desk for filing. If you have a question about the bill, please check with Mary.
Remember that it is a violation of University policy and federal/state law to make personal long distance calls from the University phone system. In most cases, the front desk will give you the original phone bill, thus it is important for you to return the bill to them within a few days so that it is available to the accountants when they reconcile the monthly statements.
Let me know if you have any questions about this change.
