SERVES: Community Organizations and Government Agencies

PURPOSE: St. Paul Community GIS Consortium (the Consortium)(CGISC) is a group of community organizations that are bringing GIS into their organizations as a tool to improve services to their communities. The Consortium was initially formed in June 2000 to regularly access data from Ramsey County and share information and knowledge about GIS. The thirteen founding community organizations grew to fifteen by mid-year, representing eleven neighborhoods in St. Paul. All member organizations focus on economic and/or community development in St. Paul.

Services to members currently include data access, technical assistance, educational and training opportunities, and liasion with partners and local universities, including the Ramsey County GIS Users' Group.
